Our client in Cranston RI is looking to add experienced Mechanical Inspectors to their growing team. Candidates should have at least 1 year of inspection experience, be familiar with CMM and commom measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers and height gages. Responsibilities for the Mechanical Inspector
Under supervision, performs routine visual, functional, and mechanical/dimensional inspection of a variety of products from receiving through final inspection.
Develops a working knowledge of, and performs routine inspections on, the CMM, Optical Comparator, optical CMM, and other specialty testing equipment used in product acceptance.
Uses computerized data collection equipment and software to record inspection data and generate process capability and other SQC charts.
Prepares Certificates of Conformance for products inspected.
Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager/designee or Lead Quality Inspector
Requirements for the Mechanical Inspector
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum six months working with inspection techniques & instruments. Certification(s) from ASQ preferred.
Working knowledge of general inspection techniques and instruments, including: micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, and surface plates.
Must be able to interpret blueprints
Basic knowledge of Statistical Quality Control (SQC) theory and charts.
Basic computer knowledge a must. Working with various specialty Quality software applications a plus.
